Suspension systems

Leaf springed single axle systems

The spring units are used universally for many vehicle types. The boogie axle units are highly suitable for offroad use due to the large balance. But also on the road these aggregates satisfy with very good spring properties. The axes can be used for speed up to 60km/h.

Airsprung systems as complete tandem or tridem chassis as standard:

Due to the large spring travel and the great balance between the axes, airsprung systems ensure high driving comfort on the road as well as on the terrain. It helps to protect the frame, the chassis and the cargo.

For vehicles with special requirements for roll stability, safety and comfort, chassis are equipped with hydropneumatic suspension.



The complete suspension systems are characterized by a balance between the major axes with equal load distribution. 
This ensures a very safe and comfortable ride, especially for slurry tankers with big wheels, that have a critical driving behavior due to a high center of gravity.


Hydropneumatic suspension

For vehicles with special requirements for roll stability, safety and comfort, chassis are equipped with hydropneumatic suspension.



This new hydropneumatic suspension allows a safe and comfortable driving experience, in particular in critical driving situations. The driving height is electronically controlled and always remains constant independently of the state of load. It is important specifically for slurry tankers with mounted agricultural working vehicles. The cross-connect of the suspension cylinder ensures a maximum of roll stability. This in turn offers a suspension with a maximum of safety and comfort when driving over uneven surfaces and streets.


Steering systems

The steering technique is one of the emphasis of Meyer-Lohne. The steering of the axles not only saves fuel and the tire, it also makes the work faster and more efficiently. The steering response to the driver of the vehicle. This is where the quality of the steering becomes clear.

Self-steering with hydraulic reversing lock

REKORDIA® vehicles are fitted with BPW axle units as standard. The built-in self-steering axles work without power-assisted steering stabilizing elements such as cylinders, valves, etc. They are self-steering and automatically controlled by the load condition.


Mechanical-hydraulic forced steering ISO 26402 (MLS)

As the first manufacturer Meyer-Lohne offers forced steering for all tandem and tridem tanks with the recordings K80 and K50 according to ISO standard 26402. By this standard there is no need to adjust the tractor to the slurry tank. The simple control of the forced steering secures a safe operation. There is no need of hydraulic or electrical lines on the tractor because the whole system forms a closed unit. Overall, these forced steering allows a high degree of manoeauvrability and driving stability.


Electronic-hydraulic steering (ELS)

The electronic steering system ELS is a micro-computer-controlled hydraulic steering system. It is based on proven technology from the commercial vehicles and special vehicles with permission to road use.


Tires

The right tires are very important by using REKORDIA® slurry tanks. Large wide tires as standard provide low drag resistance, low ground pressure and low fuel consumption. Meyer-Lohne offers radial and diagonal flotation tires up to 60km/h.

Soil conserving on the field, largely wear-resistant and with good self-cleaning properties.


Radial I-380

Soil conserving on the field, self-cleaning and energy-saving as possible on the road, perfect in conjunction with tire pressure control system - this should a tire can, of course, be largely resistant to wear and smooth, too. Taken all together, these requirements can only meet in radial tire construction. 
By the non-directional tread there is a very good traction possible in both directions. By the steel belt a high resistance is achieved.


RADIAL I-390

Soil conserving on the field, self-cleaning and energy-saving as possible on the road, perfect in conjunction with tire pressure control system - this should a tire can, of course, be largely resistant to wear and smooth, too. Taken all together, these requirements can only meet in radial tire construction. Through the unique profile depth of 26mm long lifetime is guaranteed. This tyre is especially suitable for grassland work because of its soil conserving profile and rounded tyre-walls.


Multiuse I-550

The block profile of this tire is suitable for transport and for field and grassland use. The radial construction ensures a comfortable ride up to 65 km/h. Here, a uniform pressure distribution for grassland is given without scarring damage.


The pressure control systems

In slurry tanks the tires has very large dimensions. In addition, the exchange between road and field usually takes place several times per hour. Therefore, changing air pressure in the tires must be done quickly. Meyer-Lohne offers a compressor unit with screw compressor and oil and air cooling with an output of up to 2400 liters per minute. To keep dirt and dust from the compressor block, it's installed above the tank. If desired, the compressor system can also be integrated in the front hydraulics of the tractor. Than tractor or other trailer additionally can be coupled by the tire pressure control system.

Single line system

On the slurry tank the air lines are routed through the axes. The air lines are connected with quick connectors to the maintenance-free rotary feedthroughs (RDS system of PTG). During the drive the tire pressure can be adjusted at any time directly from the tractor.


Double line systems


Through the second air line the valve opens only for the adjustment of the tire pressure by the controller. After the pressure change, the RDS control closes the valve automatically. The tire is then independent of the control system and the seals of the rotary carrier run without pressure. The advantages are at first, there is no pressure loss in the tire in case of defect lines or leaks in the fittings. Secondly the service life of seals reach several thousands of hours, because they work without pressure most of the time. This provides the highest possible reliability and durability with the double line system.


BRAKE SYSTEMS

Ecotronic braking system (EBS) with integrated Trailer Roll Stability (TRS)

As the first manufacturer of slurry tanks Meyer-Lohne offers an ecotronic EBS brake system with integrated ABS and TRS (roll and pitch control). The advantage for the user is a maximum driving safety and driving comfort. For dangerous roll situations, at high speeds and not fully filled tank or rolling movements, such as on ice, during the off-and on-road rides the EBS braking system brakes the slurry tank automatically. The activated ABS through the EBS prevents the locking of the wheels and also protects against injury, such as turf.
